Cynthia Mumba

My name is Cynthia Kafula Susu and I was born on 23 May 1983. I did both my primary education  in Lusaka at Woodlands ''A'' School and my High School education  at  Kabulonga Girls High School.

I enrolled for an Accountancy program  at National Institute for Public Administration(NIPA) where I managed to clear the foundation level and I continued to study for my final year, but finances become scarce and I only managed to write one paper and that was Auditing. Being orphaned at a tender age of 12,school become my major focus despite the financial struggles.

I came to Macha in October,2007 after my husband was transferred by the government to work in Macha. As a Christian, I quickly found a Ladies bible study group were I met Mrs Krause and she told me about the Ubuntu  projects (that is Linknet, building projects, ABFA and the Mics School). I was really delighted to hear about such activities in a rural area and when I was asked to join the Organisation in the capacity of Accounting, I was more than happy to be part of this great development.

My experience in this Organization has been great. I have learnt a lot through the different circumstances we have had in the Organization. Some of the highlights I can give are in the areas of financial management and Human resource management. I have seen the diversity of managing people with little or no educational background and being able to have a common understanding despite such a barrier.

This year 2009 to me is a year of greater growth to  professionalize our organization and and also as individual to learn more as I work with different people who are specialized in the areas like Accounting and management.
