Macha Radio the only source of information for people living in communities around Macha. There is no national radio and no mobile network coverage to reach these people. Radio Macha fills that gap by offering music and informative programs about health, agriculture and activities relevant to the people around Macha Mission Hospital.

MICS has proven that children without any English knowledge can learn how to read and write the language within two years. This is unique in rural Zambia.

Macha Works supports a new clinical facility in Macha for up to 25 recently discharged Aids patients. These patients are often not yet strong enough to live the disciplined life of Aids. The Care House provides them with lodging and care for a number of months. Here, they can regain their strength, get psychologic support and receive training.

The medical research institute MRT has achieved great results in reducing the number of malaria patients with 98% with a combined clinical research and medical care program. A new HIV laboratorium has been built to test the same approach for the combat against AIDS. We are looking for the interior for the new lab.

It is hard for children when they are hospitalised for a long period of time because there are no facilities for children. The children can play in the Playroom during the day. It's amazing to see how quickly children get new energy again. The growing number of children require the expansion of the building.

AIDS, Malaria and TB are the three major infectious diseases in rural Zambia. The combination of clinical research and medical care have shown clear results in Macha with for example a decline in malaria patients by 90%. Water Turbine project Chitokoloki
The surgery facilities in the hospital of Chitokoloki are excellent. The national Electricity grid has not reached the community of Chitokoloki. The community of Chitokoloki is based along the Zambezi river and a medium sized water turbine could deliver ongoing electricity for 24 hours.
