Support the pressing plant the Jatropha plantation
The Jatropha project in Macha is a significant first step to make the community self sufficient in energy by growing the tropical tree in large quantity. In recent years Jatropha has been planted at the plantation (3 km2) and farmers started planting Jatropha on their own farm (a total of 750,000 trees).Being self sufficient is important because the distribution points for diesel are located far away from most isolated communities. This diesel is delivered regularly by trucks and is imported from the Middle East, a far from environmentally friendly solution. Macha wants to produce the diesel for the geneators themselves. The fruits of Jatropha bio-oil can be squeezed to bio oil and is directly ready for the generators to produce electricity Macha Works wants to build up a central press building where the farmers bring the fruits and get oil in return. We are looking for sponsors who may want to make this press plant a reality.
