Mukinge, Nother Western Province
I was born in 1983 in rural Mukinge mission hospital, North western province. I did my primary school at Mukinge basic, and my secondaryat Kasempa Boys Boarding Secondary School.
I have been brought up by a single parent because Dad past away after having an accident with a motorbike when I was just two. Am the second born in the family of three, all boys. Life has not been easy, especially for Mom after Dad's death.
My father was a pastor and a chaplain at Mukinge Mission Hospital. He also used to do evangelism work in the villages and it was during one of these times of evangelism that he had this terrible Motorbike accident. When I was growing up my future dreams were to become a pilot or pastor so that I can carry on from were Dad left. At secondary school, my dreams changed and I wanted to become a Medical Doctor so that I can work in the hospital and help people. After school, things did not work according to my dream and plan so I took an accounting course called ATD for one year six months in Lusaka.
In 2005 and 2006, I stayed in Lusaka with my elder brother, but unfortunately I couldn+t find a job and life was becoming harder. At the end of the year 2006, Mom called me back home in Mukinge. Then in 2007, I came to know about Linknet through the team which came to Install Internet at Mukinge mission hospital and Linknet was interested in seeing local people run the network.
Luck enough I was one of the people who were picked to come to Macha and get trained at LITA so that I can be able to manage the network in Mukinge. In January 2008 I made my way to Macha. Since then, my life has been changed, and I have really gained and learnt a lot. I have also been inspired at work by seeing and getting involved into all developments taking place in rural areas and how people's lives are being touched and changed for better.
Through all these things, I have also been inspired and made to change my way of thinking. I feel I have now realized my dream and I would want to advance in my computer studies and help a lot of communities.
