I’m Justine Milandu from Macha, A youth with the aged 26 years old. I started my primary school in 1992 at Mweebo School in chief Chikanta. And at the age of 10-year life had to change into another way, such that I was found myself being bitten by a snake. In two days later my leg-started lottening due to that the Hospital was very far from my parents’ place. The third day I was taken to the Hospital. At the hospital, the only way to save my life was to cut-off my leg that was done in the fourth day. What a life!
Now it became a kind of hard time to my parents and me. School was at a long distance about (10 km) away from my Home. It was also hard for me to accept my disability. My mum used to take me to school putting me on her back. This was happening for almost ten months, not until one of my mum‘s relative got me to stay with her because school was near by. I had to stay with those people for about four years; life was still hard to me.
In 2001, I was selected to go in grade eight at Lusangu Mission High School, now school fees was a problem, such that I was not able to go to that school. In the second term I was taken to the day school in macha where the fees were manageable. Bringing you back one year after being bitten by the snake, there was something that I didn’t knew, actually the person on whom I was suppose to depend on. The man of God came to proclaim the word of God to me. I became to accept my disability.
I thank GOD that I was being sponsored by the MCC (an organization that helps the disability and vulnerable children) in my second year at secondary school. I was in sponsorship up to my last grade of my secondary school. In 2006, I started working at the vision community doing Data Entry project, as it was a contract. I had to stay with one of my relative just in macha with the idea of saking job.
In 2007 I became to help one of my friends from netherand in Kids program, not only helping her but I had also such kind of interest with children. Every Wednesday after noon we used to meet kids at the vision community hall. In the same year my friend went back to her country but the kids program remained in my hands I like it. In 2008, allow me to call that year as a blessed years to me, I say so because I had to see the love of God working onto my life. Such that almost four things came on my way,I had to be helped to get an artificial leg; I was called to work as a librarian at the vision center, I was also sponsored to study ICT at LITA Collage. Now this year again it is blessed year to me as well, I was called to work at Mics School in Computer trainee room after I completed my first level of computer study at LITA. I therefore look forward to a better and brighter future and also to do my second level of studying the Essentials and Technician.
Soon after, I want to obtain an International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), your help to my study is highly appreciated.
